INTRODUCTION

According to Hindu Puranas, Uchaisravas is a seven-headed divine horse, which was formed during the churning of the ocean of milk. It is considered to be the horse of Bhakt Prahalad and later on it was gifted by him to his grandson Bali, the Demon king. By riding the holy horse, Bhakt Prahalad and his grandson, Bali, had won in many battles held with the Demi Gods in the heaven. Uchaisravas is said to be very beautiful with marvellous appearance.

The details about the holy horse, was mentioned in the Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita and Mahabharata. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna declares that among the horses, he is the Uchaisravas. Uchaisravas is considered as the king among the horses. Uchaisravas is a very good natured horse, and was considered as a holiest one among the living beings in the earth and heaven. It also contains the features of Lord Vishnu. It is capable to fly in the sky and can reach all the divine worlds within a few minutes. Now it is living in the Swarka Loka along with his master Lord Indra, and serving him in a pleasing manner.
