Sri Rama Ashtakam was written by Vyasa in Sanskrit. This holy poem tells about the greatness of Lord Rama, and whoever recites this poem with bhakti would be blessed by Lord Rama and by Lord Hanuman, and they would prosper in their lives.

The contents present in this poem are as follows:

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who is the holy avatar of Lord Vishnu, a friend of Sugreeva,
and the beloved consort of Ma Sita,
Who appears in blue colour,
and who contains Lotus eyes.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who is praised in Vedas,
Who is the judgement god,
who permanently dwells in our heart,
and who gives spiritual pleasure.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who appears like Lord Yama to his enemies, and who appears like Lord Indra to his devotees.
He is the one, who lives every where in this world,
and he is praised by the great sages and saints,
Whose smile is like the holy water falls,
and he is the one, who had destroyed Ravana of Lanka,
and made the entire world to shine brightly.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who wears beautiful garland of flowers,
Who always speak with others using sweet words,
Who contains a very good character,
and who is always worshipped by his humble devotee, Lord Hanuman.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who is a great expert in Vedas,
who gives respect to others, who fulfils the wishes of his devotees,
andthe one, who removes the fear from the mind of his devotees.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who contains attractive qualities,
Who is the guide to his devotees, and who creates happiness in the minds of his devotees.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who contains a beautiful body,
Who is a great warrior in the battle field,
and wins in all the debates.

I constantly salute Lord Rama,
Who shines like the bright sun,
and who removes the darkness in our minds.
