INTRODUCTION

Vasuki is considered as the king of serpent as per Hinduism and Buddhism texts. He contains the divine gem on his head, and the divine gem gives more attractiveness to his body. He is the brother of Mata Manasa Devi, a famous snake goddess, mostly worshiped by the North Indian people, and in Tamil Nadu, she is worshiped as Nagathamman. It is believed that Lord Shiva is wearing Vasuki in his neck.

During the tretayuga, Vasuki helped the divine demi gods and demons for the churning of the divine ocean, in order to get the divine nectar from the ocean. Vasuki is mentioned in many Hindu texts and Puranas, and considered as very mighty snake among other nagas. He contains great wisdom, braveness and courage and he is the devotee of Lord Shiva. He is also the brother of Takshaka and Adisesha, divine bed of Lord Vishnu, and the son of Rishi Kashyap and Mata Kadru.  By worshiping Vasuki Bhagawan, and by chanting his names, we can get the grace of Lord Shiva, and we can get relieved from poisonous diseases, snake bites and from all other types of deadliest viruses.
